5 Win-Win Trades to help Struggling teams

5 Win-Win Trades to help Struggling teams

This NBA season has been an unpredictable one, and with that comes many struggling teams that need to do something to help themselves.  Well, that’s what I am going to find out, with 5 Win-Win trades to help 10 struggling teams (I know, math genius). Let’s start.

Trade #1 – Bradley Beal finds new home, Wizards get good young core

Wizards receive:

Jerami Grant

Sekou Dombouya

Killian Hayes

Isaiah Stewart

Detroit 2022 First Round Pick Top 5 Protected

Toronto 2021 Second round pick

Pistons Receive:

Bradley Beal

Moritz Wagner

Now I know that this doesn’t seem very good for Washington on paper, but Bradley Beal wants out of Washington and this gets him gone and Washington get a good young core for a rebuild, with the additions of Sekou Dombouya and Killian Hayes adding to the young core that is already in washington, and those picks will certainly help as well. For the Pistons it’s obvious, a great shooting guard in Bradley Beal to help them make a playoff push.

Trade #2 – Pelicans fill in gaps, Heat go for it

Pelicans Receive:

Andre Iguodala

Kelly Olynyk

KZ Opala

Chris Silva

2022 Top 5 Protected Heat First Round Pick

2027 Unprotected Heat First Round Pick

2022 Second Round Pick via Philly or Denver (Less Favourable)

Heat Recieve

Nicolo Melli

JJ Redick

Josh Hart

Jaxson Hayes

Kira Lewis Jr.

Seems like a bunch of nothing at first, but the Heat get what they’ve been lacking – a three point deadeye veteran in JJ Redick, a good young backup in Jaxson Hayes, and a lot of depth that will help them this year, and the pelicans get some vets that will help their young team get leaders to spur them on, and the Pelicans’ special – getting some picks from the deal.

Trade #3 – Mavs get much needed squad depth, Thunder get solid starter

Mavs receive:

George Hill

Darius Miller

Hamidou Diallo

Luguentz Dort

Isaiah Roby

Aleksej Pokusevski

Thunder receive

Tim Hardaway Jr.

Tyrell Terry

Mavs 2022 1st round top 3 protected

Mavs 2021 2nd round

Mavs 2022 2nd round

Another good trade. The Mavs get a solid shooting guard in George Hill and lots of more squad options, depth, and youth. The Thunder receive someone who will surely start or get traded for even more picks, another choice PG, and 3 picks, 1 being a first rounder.

Trade 4 – Timberwolves get forward depth, Magic get bonafide PG

Timberwolves receive:

Aaron Gordon

Dwayne Bacon

Mo Bamba

2027 Magic 2nd round

Magic receive

Ricky Rubio

Ed Davis

Josh Okogie

2024 Timberwolves 1st round

This is a really nice deal for both organizations, The Timberwolves get a power forward and a backup center, whist the Magic receive a proper point guard. Not a blockbuster, sure, but it helps greatly both organizations to get that spur on to get them out of the bottom.

Trade 5 – Bulls get rid of unwanted cap, Kings get a good PF

Bulls Receive

Nemanja Bjelica

Richaun Holmes

2021 Kings 1st round Top 3 Protected

2023 Kings 1st Round Top 8 protected

Kings Receive

Thaddeus Young

Ryan Arcidiacono

The Kings are getting a stud in Thaddeus Young, and the Bulls get a good 1st rounder. Thaddeus Young is on a poor deal that the Kings will need to take a chance on. Will they? I think so, and it will pay off. They also get a solid PG in Ryan Arcidiacono. The Bulls don’t get many good players, but get some picks to make it all worth it.

I hope you enjoyed my list of these trades, I look forward to making more content, and see you soon!
