The Main Storylines with 3 Days Left in the Summer Transfer Window

Well, here we are. Another transfer window is coming to an end. With this window officially being the highest spending in history after overtaking 2019, we could still have some surprises in store in the last days of this window. Today I will tell you the main storylines and developing moves to follow and keep an eye on.

Matheus Nunes to Man City

One of the bigger and now more likely moves of the rest of the window, Man City have now had a bid accepted for Nunes and the deal is set to happen soon. Nunes had an underwhelming first season at Wolves last year, but Man City still think he’ll become a good player.

João Félix to Barcelona

While a Felix deal is further away for Barca than Nunes is for City, it is still very possible. With 1 or 2 departures, the FFP space for Felix will be free. Felix is waiting for Barcelona, and it’s very possible that Barca want to improve their attacking options before the end of the window, having lost races for Messi, Neymar and Bernardo Silva, and after losing Ousmane Dembélé.

Mo Salah to Al Ittihad

What started as a farfetched rumour last week has now accelerated into a deal that could very well happen. A move away is “likely” according to Jan Aage Fjortoft, but it is yet to be seen if this is truly the case.

Randal Kolo Muani to PSG

The most expensive of the potential deals remaining this summer, Randal Kolo Muani turned heads last season after leading the line for Frankfurt and nearly winning the World Cup for France in the 123rd minute, and PSG now want him. Personal terms won’t be a problem, but the clubs are far off in valuation as of now.

João Cancelo to Barcelona

While a deal is done, Cancelo’s Barca move has been held up by late payments of a financial lever. This still shouldn’t be an issue, and the transfer will happen.

Bayern to sign any Defensive midfielder

Bayern have been linked to a few defensive midfielders to sign before the end of the window. Joao Palhinha is apparently the priority, with Eric Dier and Trevor Chalobah as alternatives.

Ansu Fati to Anyone

Barcelona need Ansu Fati to leave in order to sign João Félix, and a loan has looked more likely in the last day or two. Fati has now asked to leave, and a loan is probably the best choice for him. The most heavily linked club has been Tottenham to get his signature, but if Mo Salah leaves Liverpool, the Scouse club will ramp up their efforts to get him, and it’s likely Fati would prefer them over Spurs.

Marc Cucurella to Man Utd

Yes, you saw that right. I had to double-check the first time I saw it too. Only a year after his Chelsea move, Cucurella could leave Chelsea to Man Utd. Yes, I know it’s a loan, but once you enter the Chelsea loan army, there is no leaving, unless you’re a Cobham born-and-bred young supertalent, which Cucurella isn’t. United are looking for a left back after injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, and Cucurella is their #1 priority. This could very well happen.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Man Utd

A relatively new rumour, Man Utd are also looking for a new midfielder, and Hojbjerg is top of their list. A move is admittedly far, but still possible.

Spurs to sign a Striker

Spurs still haven’t signed their Harry Kane replacement, and they can’t have 1-league-goal Richarlison as the entirety of their striker depth. Ansu Fati is an option, so is Mehdi Taremi. With anyone else you’d think one of these 2 moves were guaranteed to happen, but with Tottenham, I’m not sure.

Altay Bayindir to Man Utd

I honestly don’t know why Man Utd need another goalkeeper, but they’re signing Altay Bayindir and selling Dean Henderson, actually this time. I don’t know why this move is attractive at all to Bayindir either, but again, it’s happening.

Cole Palmer to Chelsea

If I did this yesterday, I might have put Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala in this list, but now, only Cole Palmer seems a likely option for the Blues. A likely fee is reported at 45 million pounds, a lot for someone as inexperienced as Palmer, and another deal I wouldn’t do if I was Chelsea.

That concludes the main moves and storylines to follow in the rest of this window. As you can see, there are a lot of big moves left in this window, and it’s set to be a thrilling end to the window. I plan on doing another deadline day live tracker this year, I’ll see you soon.
