If you’re getting EA FC on September 22nd through pre-order, you’ve presumably bought the ultimate edition, which comes with 4600 FIFA Points – sorry, FC Points. It’s a very large number, and some can feel confused on how to spend it. Well, there are more options than ever this year, so let’s go through them.
Last year, I spent my FIFA Points on 7.5k packs, which turned out to be a whole load of nothing. You can get 30 of these packs, and you can get 3-4 players per pack, most of them being non-rares. You can probably get around 2k from quick selling consumables from the pack as well. This amounts to 60k back, which is the appeal of this method. The first 50k is very hard to get, and after that, you can start trading your way to the top. However, there may be some promo packs in store, or you can save them for a bigger pack which will come out later, although it’ll likely be untradeable. The packs last year were underwhelming, and if you want to get a very good starter team, this isn’t the method for you.
Next is the Drafts method. This truly does depend on your skill in the game, as you need to be a rank 4 or higher player to get the most out of this method. All the good players will be doing online drafts to start, and you can get great value from it, with a 50k pack being your reward for winning the whole thing. Every draft costs 300 FP, so for the great players, this is the way to go. I wouldn’t recommend it for players who aren’t as good. If you lose in the first round of online drafts, you’re getting silver packs. Offline drafts aren’t great value either, as for winning it you’re getting a similarly valued pack with a bonus 7.5k pack, which isn’t worth it for 4 extra games. You can afford 15 draft entries with 4.6k FP, Amounting to potentially 60 games worth of grinding, only really worth it if you’re a top level player.
The final method is the newest one, the only one that was added this year. Evolutions are coming to the game as most of you may know, but what some of you might not know is that there’s also an option for paid evolutions. Each of these costs 50k coins or 1000 FP. Everyone who logs on before November 1st, gaining founder status for the new era of the game, will receive a free evolutions player, although the specifics aren’t known. The paid evolutions are much better than the free ones, and you can create some unique insane players, whether you choose to go with the meta players the community is choosing or your personal favourite players that meet the requirements. You can afford 4 paid evolutions with the FP, with 600 remaining after that.
My personal recommendation relies on your skill level. As I said, drafts are the way to go if you’re a great player. However, if you either aren’t amazing or don’t want to play 60 games with a team you can’t even keep, you can have some alternatives. I’d recommend playing at least 1 offline draft to see if you like the mode. It’s also a great opportunity to try out some players you’re thinking of putting in your starter team. I’d also recommend 1 or 2 paid evolutions, as it’s a superb opportunity to get some insane players (and future club legends) in your team early on. Then, I’d recommend packs. Live a little on this game, early access is so fun, don’t put all your FP into packs, but at least see what your luck is like. But also it could be the replacement for welcome back packs, which are being removed for some reason.
Anyway, that’s my guide for using your 4.6k FIFA Points in EA FC 24 Ultimate team. If you’re someone who plays this game a lot or does it for a living, take some time to touch a little grass, as once the new game comes out you won’t be doing any of that. Until next time.
