1. Manchester United will go undefeated – Manchester United are back! For too long we have seen Ole take United on great runs before crashing but not anymore. After a 2-1 loss to Sheffield and a 0-0 draw to Arsenal United have bounced back with a 9-0 demolition job of Southampton. You’d feel that United can ride this wave of positivity and I’m backing them to not only win the league but to not lose a single game for the rest of the season.
2. Southampton won’t bounce back – A silver lining found with a humiliating 9-0 loss is the upturn in form after a loss from the same scoreline last season. However, lightning won’t strike twice and Southampton won’t bounce back. With 4 defeats in a row, and players unfit, Southampton will find themselves devoid of confidence, and I back the Saints to go down.
3. Jose sacked – Jose Mourinho faces an uphill battle. With qualification to Europe looking unlikely, it is evident that Jose is at Spurs for one reason and one reason alone; to win a trophy. However, he faces tough competition from Everton in round 5 and with tough teams in the Europa. I think that Jose will be eliminated from the Europa and thus face the sack.
4. Caicedo signing of the window – I am backing Brighton to stay up, and that’s mainly down to Moises Caicedo. A transfer that isn’t getting nearly as much credit as it should, the 19-year-old Ecuadorian was being linked to Manchester United – a testament to his quality and potential. He won’t have too much expectation and is heading into a side where he can easily become the star, playing for a manager with innovative ideas; this spells success.
Those were my 2020/21 Premier League predictions featuring United to win the league, Southampton to go down, Spurs to underachieve and Caicedo to keep Brighton up.
