My predictions for the second half of the Premier League season – Part 2

My predictions for the second half of the Premier League season – Part 2

10th: Wolves

They may be 14th at the moment, but Wolves are going to bounce back and finish 10th. Pedro Neto and Rui Patrício are going to tie down the ship and climb this team back into 10th.

With Raul Jiminez out for the season, Wolves had to find a saviour, and they have done in Pedro Neto, a 22 year old portugese left winger who has been Wolves’ goalscorer and he is going to continue putting in the goals, and the rest of the team is going to get hot, and get this team mid-table

9th: Arsenal

This Arsenal team has been disappointing for the last couple years, and the disappointment is going to continue this season. Mikel Arteta to be sacked as well, and they will need some changes in the summer.

Their dismal performance vs Wolves the other day shows me that this team is beyond hope. They need some new faces, all over the pitch and off the pitch to save this team. They need an entirely new outfield and manager. This club needs saving.

8th: West Ham

Another club going down-to-earth after an exceptional first half of the season. They will be on a few winless games in a row, but they will do enough to jump Arsenal and Wolves in the table, they will sorta be like last season’s Leicester or Sheffield, having a great first half of the season and a meh second half. I think this is a fair prediction.

Their sale of Sebastian Haller has been one that hasn’t affected the hammers too much, and they’ve made over 22 million off of the deal and were able to sign Said Benrahma on a permanent deal, so a good sale, even if they made an almost 30 million pound loss.

7th: Everton

The first Conference League spot ever in the Premier League goes to… Everton. Yeah, they have a chance to redeem themselves from European humiliation in 2018, in an easier competition. They should be around here, this seems like where they should be, Dominic Calvert-Lewin firing all season and Jordan Pickford doing, well, Jordan Pickford, and Luca Digne and Michael Keane holding the defense. This team should qualify for Europe.

They’re a good team, but just won’t withstand the test of the rest of the season and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea will slip by them. But they will qualify for europe, as stated earlier, with DCL getting a 20 goal season.

6th: Chelsea

Yeah Chelsea are in 8th right now (Editing Note: This was before their match vs Spurs) and look as disoriented as a chicken in a new years party, but I think Tuchel will turn it around, and get them into the Europa. I think he will get Werner and Havertz firing again, and actually do well, even if the goal tally isn’t amazing.

I think that Tuchel can get Chelsea’s big names doing well again, or they will hope so as if they can’t get back on track this season it won’t fare well for their careers.

5th: Spurs

This Spurs team has mostly declined in my opinion, it has just been shielded by the brilliance of Harry Kane and Hueng-Min Son. 5th is the best they will get. Their defense has been quite shaky, Lloris has been inconsistent, and they as a team have been quite inconsistent. Their 3-3 draw vs West Ham, 1 example of this. They just don’t look like a Champions League team.

Jan Vertonghen must be laughing so much at his TV, Spurs discarded him like an old candy wrapper and are still in the Europa. He is criminally underrated and should really still be in the staring back 5 of a big european team, like spurs. Anyway, Davinson Sanchez has been so bad this season that Jose Mourinho has preferred to start Joe Rodon against big teams like Liverpool instead of Sanchez.

4th: Leicester City

This is a team. Leicester has slowly pulled off the great and has got themselves in 3rd. Now they aren’t going to stay there, but this time they’re going back to the Champions League. Brendan Rodgers isn’t going to cough it up, they are going to get to the big competition once again. Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Perez are going to be key to the goals and Kasper Schmeichel the stopper in goal, this team will qualify

One place they could be exploited is on the left, with an inexperienced James Justin getting the majority of the playtime at left back, and that shouldn’t be acceptable in the Champions League.

3rd: Liverpool

This team has been a very underwhelming one. Maybe it has something to do with Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all being out the rest of the season, but their forward line can’t score for love nor money, with their first goal outside of the League Cup being in late January/early February, with 1-0 losses to Burnley, Southampton, and Brighton. This team would stand no chance vs the team of last season, but sure, let’s put them 3rd.

A back line of Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies stands no chance vs the best defender in the world and his heir. This team runs through Van Dijk, and they can’t cope without him.

2nd: Manchester United

This team is a good team, but just won’t be able to get the job done. This team has potential, with many of its key cogs under 30 years old. Perhaps if this team makes a couple signings they can win the league, but not this time. I believe it will be decided on less than 5 points, so it will be close this year. How good Bruno has made this team.

It will probably be all square going into the last couple matchdays, then Ole chokes and slides this team into second. Bruno will have at least 30 goal contributions and Cavani at least 12 goals. A good team, this.

1st: Manchester City

They’ve done it again. 3 wins in 4 seasons, cementing Pep Guadiola’s Manchester City forever into the greatest – if not the greatest – Premier league span of all time. Even though this may not be the best of their title wins, it will be the most satisfying one. Grinded out, and just getting the nick better than their derby rivals.

Kevin De Bruyne will be stellar, as well as their whole defensive line and even though Gabi Jesus won’t be the most clinical, he will be have a key role in the title win, with Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez feeding him balls and even taking a few themselves. This team is a title worthy one, and I think that they will get what they deserve.

If you read both articles in their entirety, I commend you. Did you know you read more than 2000 words of content? I know, amazing. Anyway, see you soon and see you at the end of May where Jake and myself will take up our predictions.
