Bob vs Jim NBA Mock Draft 2021 – Bob
Let me start off by saying that Jim has put some deep thought into his picks this year and I believe that if he keeps working diligently, in a few years his predictions will improve.
Number 1: Cade Cunningham to the Detroit Pistons. His skill level is undeniable. He’s a high-level passer, has really good court awareness on the offensive and defensive end and has the height and wingspan to be an impact player on both ends. Still, there are some concerns, namely athleticism and shooting inside the arc.
Number 2: Jalen Green to the Houston Rockets. He has the potential to be a top scorer in the league, and you just can’t pass up on that type of upside with the Rockets light on top-end talent. He’s just 19, so he will need some development, but he’s been playing against grown men in the G-League, so he’s already much further ahead than your typical 19-year-old.
Number 3: Evan Mobley to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mobley’s upside as a frontcourt playmaker and offensive hub differentiates from Allen. Green would be in the running too had he not been picked at No. 2. But with the board how it is, Mobley is the easy pick.
Number 4: Jalen Suggs to the Toronto Raptors. He’s an elite-level athlete, hard-nosed competitor, and comfortable sacrificing shots in the interest of team success. Consensus says he’s the best prospect available here, and the Raptors shouldn’t have any qualms walking away with him.
Number 5: Scottie Barnes to the Orlando Magic. He’s arguably the most versatile defender this class and with the NBA becoming more switch heavy, you need a guy who can defend guards, wings & bigs
Number 6: Jonathan Kuminga to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He’s a huge project, but his size, potential to create offense for himself, and his defensive upside is too much to pass up here
Number 7: Davian Mitchell to the Golden State Warriors. He has the ceiling to be a high-quality starter down the road, but at 22 and with strong defensive chops already, can be a contributor immediately.
Number 8: James Bouknight to the Orlando Magic. Bouknight can immediately shore up the depth at the wing position while adding some scoring punch on the perimeter.
Number 9: Jalen Johnson to the Sacramento Kings. Johnson fits the bill for the Kings with his playmaking ability, raw athleticism and defensive instincts.
Number 10: Moses Moody to the New Orleans Pelicans. We love his range shooting upside and defensive potential moving forward.
