Reuilding FC Barcelona on every FIFA since FIFA 14 Part 2: FIFA 15
By Jim James
Hello, welcome back to the series, we’re rebuilding Barcelona to Champions League glory in every PS4 FIFA, if you want more rules go back to part 1, but if you know it all already keep reading. This should in theory be the easiest FIFA as Barca won the treble in real life on this FIFA, so we should be winning it soon. If you haven’t watched me have a mental breakdown yet on FIFA 14, look at Part 1, if you have let’s begin!
FIFA 14 Top 3 signings
- Manuel Neuer
- Zakaria Bakkali
- Joao Cancelo
FIFA 14 Top Scorer:
Neymar: 153 Goals
Season 1
FIFA 15 is a FIFA I’m comfortable with, so this shouldn’t be tricky. A good realism touch that Luis Suarez is serving his suspension that he actually served in 2014.
We’re taking a similar approach here to FIFA 14, we’re improving the weakest aspects of the team, starting with left back and going across the whole back line is the goal this window. We start with $107 million, more than we ever started with on FIFA 14. My first target is a left back.
We sign the best Left Back in the game, David Alaba for $40 million, and in case we need him, Bilal Ould-Chikh from FC Twente for $5 million. To raise funds for defensive signings, we sell Marc Bartra and Adriano. We later sell Pedro, getting a combined $30 million from the 3 sales.
We sell Montoya and get Jerome Boateng for our back line. We sign James Wilson and sign Kingsley Coman on loan, and we put Wilson and Ould-Chikh on the loan list.
The 1st game of the La Liga season sees Lionel Messi score a hat-trick. This will be a good season. One mistake, though. I forgot to turn on the Champions League for season One.
January, and we sell Boateng. I know, we just signed him, but we get Thiago Silva instead and make a profit, allowing us to sign Patrick Roberts (85 potential), Enes Unal (83 potential), and Goncalo Guedes (86 potential). A win if you ask me. With our remaining burget we sign Youri Tielemans for $27 million.
At the end of the season we win the league but that’s all. We have our first chance at the Champions League next season, so let’s begin!
Season 2
I start with $94 million and place all my young prospects that I signed last season on the loan list, except Patrick Roberts, who has Potential to be Special for no good reason, but I don’t want to give that away, so I’m keeping him. I also place more mediocre players on the transfer list. I’m targeting a Goalkeeper and Center Midfielder in this window. We sell Thomas Vermaelen for $12 million for funds, and we have the first of our prospects to go out on loan: Goncalo Guedes to Vitoria, and a few days later, we sign Tibo Courtois. We then loan Munir to Cordoba.
The last 2 transfers of substance are we sell Claudio Bravo to Man City and bring back Yaya Toure for $45 million. `
We skip the January transfer window as I am content with Barca, and we go to our Champions League RO16 game vs PSG. We win 2-0 in Paris, and a 2-0 win in Spain, getting us to the Quarters. We lose 2-1 in the away leg to Man U, but not to worry. Messi, Neymar and Iniesta help us to a 4-1 win in Barcelona, 5-3 on aggregate. Chelsea in the semi finals. We lose 2-1 in England AGAIN. In Barcelona, Messi scores in the 4th minute to get us ahead on away goals, but Filipe Luis equalises 11 minutes later. In the 58th minute, the most unlikely of heroes, James Wilson scores, and that gets it to extra time where Ivan Rakitic wins the game in the 100th minute. We’re in the final lads.
Real Madrid it is. We have the great feeling of being at full strength for the final. MSN up top vs Real Madrid. Here we go, is it an early ending to Part two or will we have to keep this side going?
It’s a loss. Goals from Marcelo and Paciencia lose us the game. We have a season three, folks. We have a worrying 1-3 record in Champions League finals, too. However, we do the domestic double.
Season 3
We start with $89 million, and I want tot add more youth to the team so I sign Aymeric Laporte for $25 million. We then loan out Enes Unal and Munir and sell Rafinha for $14 million.
We sell David Alaba for $27.5 million as he’s been disappointing and bring back FIFA 14 hero Luciano Vietto. A few days later we loan out Youri Tielemans.
After an uneventful January we go to the knockout stage. Ajax in the round of 16, and after a 3-2 win in Amsterdam, we win 5-1 in Catalunya. However we aren’t able to beat Real Madrid in the Quarters.
Season 4
We’re trying simply to improve this window and tying to sell as few players as possible, we start with $82 millllion and we blow it all on Mario Gotze for $82 mil + Yaya Toure. We also sell Christian Tello and after adjusting the transfer budget we sign Luke Shaw for $27 million.
I know it’s a (literally) cheap tactic, but to increase the squad size I needed to sign a few free agents so I sign Nhlapo, Chumacero, Phala, Priskin, and Luchin as they were some of the best free agents in the game. A few days later I sign one of my favorite players on FIFA, Maximilian Beister.
Something isn’t right here. After placing 2nd we draw Chelsea and after Eden Hazard wins it in the 120th minute of the 2nd leg, we lose it in the Round of 16. However, we do win the domestic double again. Season 5 here we come.
Season 5
We don’t really do anything in the Summer, I think our squad is amazing how it is currently. However, when January comes, we might make some changes. I do want to replace Leo Messi (GASP) as he’s only scored 11 goals in the last 2 seasons, but we’ll see how he’s doing come January.
We do sign one player in January, Domineco Berardi, but that’s all. No sales, just Berardi. To the Champions League
We play Benfica in the Round of 16, we win 2-1 in Portugal and thump them 4-0 in Barcelona. Wolfsburg next, we beat them 2-0 in Germany, 3-0 at home, then Real Madrid. In Madrid we draw 1-1 and in Barcelona, an unprecedented 4-1 win. One thing left to do. Bayern Munich Last.
14th Minute, Messi puts us ahed, and it’s like that into the half. Then my favorite FIFA cult hero, Max Beister scores in the 64th to put us 2 up, and that’s how it stays. WE WIN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!!
This is the 4th day I’ve been on this project, and I still have 7 FIFAs to go…
Note that I may not post every day with this project, it depends on how hard the FIFAs are, I could post Part 3 today, tomorrow, Wednesday, it all depends.
