Tooting Town FC: Episode 1

A NEW SERIES!!! I know, it’s almost been a whole 10 days since the last one ended, but I just couldn’t help it. I will be posting regular posts inbetween, because I think this one will be a lot longer than the first one. I’M CREATING MY OWN CLUB! I’m naming it after the district of Tooting in London, because it’s a funny name. We start as nobodies in League 2. Objective: Win the Champions League.
Club Creation
We start in EFL League 2, and we replace Colchester. Our rivals will be Leyton Orient, as they’re the only other London-based team in the division. Our colors are Blue and Yellow and our home kit is blue with a yellow vertical stripe down the middle. Our away shirt is a Croatia Style Checkerboard.
Our home stadium is the bobandjim.ca Arena, what else could it have been called, and it has a 10k capacity.
We have a half star very young team and we have minimal expectations, I find the board pressure too much. We also start with a measly $1 million. Let’s begin!
We start by promoting homegrown talent Tyler Kelly to the senior team. He’s already our best player. We give him the #7 shirt and a spot on our left wing. We also transfer list basically everyone on our team.
Our first pre season game is vs Derry City. Let’s Begin!
7’ Malone goes up the wing, passes to Boyce on the edge of the area who passes to Akintunde who scores. 0-1 Derry.
16’ Powell snatches the ball from Derry, passes to Parkinson who sees Turner running into space. Turner scores. 1-1.
28’ Cole gets red carded for a cynical challenge. Derry are down to 10 men.
37’ Running down the middle on the counter, Sykes finds Kelly who runs into open space. He plays it back to Kelly who scores. 2-1 us.
Half-Time, 2-1 to us. A great game so far, we sub off Parkinson for Rice at half time, let’s get on with the second!
56’ Turner intercepts a long ball from Derry’s keeper, he plays a 1-2 with Powell and scores from range. 3-1 us.
86’ Powell has the ball on the edge of the area and passes to Rice, who passes to Kelly who passes to Sykes who scores. 4-1 us.
Full Time, what a game! A great win for the first ever match of the Tooting Town series!
Before our next game, we sign Yamir Ruidiaz, 11 years younger brother of Seattle Sounders’ Raul Ruidiaz (I checked) for $500,000. I intend to make him better than his brother at this point in time.
Our next game is against Borussia Dortmund II. A team from a small Southern London district in their 2nd ever game playing a superpower like Dortmund.
20’ Tachie goes down the wing, plays it to Tattermusch who spots Bafounta running into the middle who scores. 1-0 Dortmund II.
Half Time, 1-0 them. Time for a tactical change, to my speciality. Constant Pressure and Fast Build Up.
64’ Law goes down the wing on the counter. He passes to Ruidiaz who turns around passes to Kelly who scores! 1-1.
83’ Huber finds Parkes on the wing, who passes back to huber. He crosses the ball to an open Powell who lays it to Ruidiaz who scores! 1-2 us!
Full Time, we get the comeback victory! We must be through to the knockout round now, surely!
In the space between games, we sell our current keeper for about $400,000 and bring in Charis Chatzigavriel, a 17-year old, 58 rated, Cypriot shot stopper.
Last Group game, vs Longford Town, and we are officially through to the knockout stage, no matter the result, so we’ll quick sim the game.
82’ Sykes scores, 1-0 us.
That’s it, that’s all! We’re 1st in the group, and through to the knockout stage!
We don’t make any moves between games, but we have a few on the way. We play Drogheda United in the Semi Finals, let’s go!
7’ Kelly has the ball on the edge of the box, passes with Sykes and crosses, finds Parkes who finds Ruidiaz who scores. 1-0 us.
Half Time, we’re dominating them. 10 shots and 8 chances for us, 0 in both categories for them. No changes at half time, let’s begin!
52’ Parkes runs down the middle, plays it to Ruidiaz who passes it back. He finds Kelly making a run, passes to him and scores. 2-0 us!
66’ We make a double change; Rice on for Ruidiaz and Foley on for Huber.
77’ Our left back, Law, gets injured, so we bring on Jung to replace him.
85’ On a counter attack, Brown passes it to Markey, who finds Deegan who scores. 2-1.
That’s the game. On to the final!
Law is injured for 3 months, and we don’t have a replacement, so I decided to get out of the way a replacement, so we sign Romanian LB Luca Florica for $500,000. We also sell Rice for $450,000 to Salford as we already have Ruidiaz.
The final is against Dortmund II again. For glory!
15’ Kirby makes a fould in the box, and Tachie converts the pen. 0-1 Them. Rats.
45’ +1’ Pfanne is on the right hand side of the box, he passes to Papadopoulos who passes to Tachie who scores again. 0-2 them.
50’ Pherai is on the run, on the left side of the box, crosses to Bornemann who scores off a header. 0-3 them
66’ Powell has the ball on the edge of the box. He passes to Parkes who crosses to Sykes who scores. 1-3. Comeback?
Full Time, 1-3 them. Fair, we were played off the park in this match. We move.
Directly after the game, one of our heroes, Sykes, is moved on, for a critical $475,000.
