A Message to Newcastle United
By Jim James
What the Heck? The news that Mike Ashley has sold Newcastle United to the PIF in Saudi Arabia, making a team in Newcastle-upon-Tyne the richest in the world, or more accurately, of all time. After some research, I found that the PIF is worth HALF A TRILLION pounds.
As well as having the deepest pockets, The Magpies have the Saudi government on their side, as the PIF is a government organization. If you think that such a thing can’t happen, think again, as Russian government-owned gas organization Gazprom have backed sides such as Zenit St. Petersburg and Red Star Belgrade.
The next question is, how ambitious are these owners? This club has the potential to become EVEN BETTER than Manchester City or PSG, something that seems infeasible. This club at this point might be able to get Pele de-ageing pills to get him in his prime at Newcastle if they want. Or they could become Everton.
The Chairman of this organization is Mohammed bin Salman, known as MBS. It helps that he is next in line to the Saudi throne, a position that comes with riches and power. However, the main person in the Newcastle United takeover is Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the PIF and new chairman of Newcastle United. He invested 3.5 billion dollars into Uber, and went to Harvard in general management.
A short post, but we will provide updates as this goes on, as there is not much news yet
