Bob and Jim FC, Part 2

Bob and Jim FC, Part 2

By Jim James

Kaiserslautern is the first game. Jim James’ great performances have got him called up, so he can’t play this game. I make the risky call of putting Bob as the striker and putting Sauer as the new CM. 3rd 6-pointer in a row, so we need this one. The challenge was made difficult as CENTER BACK Ritter scored from a free kick. However, a goal from Camara and a Penalty goal by Bob saw us lead at half time with 7 shots & 7 chances to their 1 shot 0 chances. For the second half though I take off Cardero, put Bob back in center midfield and put on Muller as our Striker. The second half was… interesting. Sauer put us up 3-1 1 minutes in but 11 minutes later it was cancelled out by Boyd. Bob scored again from CM to put us up 4-2 but Hanslik put them right back into it from the spot after 88 minutes. In stoppage time, Bob had a chance to seal it for us… and took it. Completes his hat trick, and that’s another promotion rival oofed.

Our manager rating is up to a 98 and we have the most goals scored in the league by far but we also have the most goals conceded… somehow… even though we’re 3rd. I wanted to sign Xavier Dziekonski, but forgot my crippling debt in this team.

We play Dortmund II next, and we’re trying something different. Since Jim is back from International break, I’m playing a 4-4-2 with Bob and Jim up front, and goalscorer Sauer still in the XI. The first half was a rollercoaster, With Tachie putting Dortmund in front but Jim getting the equaliser. Tachie and Pherai made it 3-1 but Bob got one back. Jim had a pen and could level it by the break. He couldn’t convert. 3-2 it was at half time, and I’m putting Bob back into midfield again, and putting Muller on. I’m also getting Zimmerman on for Koriche. Tachie and Pasalic scored for Dortmund, and they almost got a 6th but Tachie chose the best time to choke from 12 yards. I changed to all out attack and Cardero scored almost immediately, but we didn’t get any more. Another 5-3 result, but this time a loss.

Scouting on Richmond Tachie starts immediately.

Switching back to the regular formation for the next game vs Wurzburg. This one I’m quick simming, and goals by Schneider and Bob get us the 2-1 win.

Hallescher is game 10 this season. We have the classic formation and squad selection. 41 minutes in, we go down, so we make a couple subs and hope for the best. Martin equalises in the 63rd minute, and it looks like we could do well! Nope. Stoppage time winner from Badji. 2-1. GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ok, we switch it up to a 4-2-2-2 with Jim and Muller up top with Cardero and Camara as CAMS and Sauer/Roberts as our midfield combo. It is Turgucu Munchen who are our opponents. We needed a win, but conceded after 6 minutes thanks to Gulpa. However, a brace by Muller made sure we lead at halftime. A missed penalty was followed up by a goal 5 minutes later by Topaltop and we drew. Promotion is getting further away.

I’m throwing everything I can find at the wall and seeing if it sticks. I’m playing a 4-3-3 again with Camara as a RW, Cardero as a CAM, and starting Sauer again. I’m also dropping CB Zimmerman because we’ve started losing ever since we started him. Finally we switch Fresneda to LB and putting Schroeder at RB. We face SV Meppen in this one. We take the lead in the 33rd by James, surely we can’t slip now… We concede 4 from some of the worst scripting I’ve ever seen. 4-2 is the final score.

Quick sim the game vs Viktoria Berlin, I don’t even care. 2-1 win with goals by Bob and Jim.

There you go. Yeah, double Part day, I know. Don’t expect something too soon though because this tested my sanity. Later.
