Mateu Lahoz should never officiate another Football match AGAIN

Today’s football match between Barcelona and Espanyol was going well. Marcos Alonso scored in the 7th minute to put Barça ahead, and while Mateu Lahoz was making some bad calls here and there, a penalty was called for Espanyol because Joselu had his boot slightly undone and Alonso clipped it.

That was disgraceful. It was a slight clip, and even the commentators thought at first that it was called for simulation. But it wasn’t, and Joselu levelled it. The worst part is, the double standard is reaffirmed as almost the same thing happens from kick off and Ferran Torres is booked for diving.

Then, 78 minutes in, Jordi Alba is sent off for simply talking to the referee. It seemed to be a common theme in this game. 2 minutes later, Vinicius Souza gets a red card for I don’t know what, and then Leandro Cabrera stays on after VAR wanted the referee to take a look at him KICKING ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI IN THE HEAD. He called it correctly the first time, but the Espanyol favouritism continued.

As the game continued, 6 minutes into added time, Javi Puado chops down Ousmane Dembélé, what’s known as an “assassin’s tackle” but only sees yellow. If the game were officiated correctly, Barcelona would have a 1 goal and 3 man advantage. A few more yellow cards are dished out for complaining.

Personally, I think the players should have walked out after that non-red card. It was the right thing to do after Lahoz has shafted them for 14 years. They also need to submit an official complaint to La Liga and do everything in their power to make sure Lahoz never referees again.

While Lewandowski was a mess, and so was the whole team, we should have won handily. I just wanted to get this off my chest. I’m Jim James, until next time.
