Hakimi, Donnarumma, Ramos, and Wijnaldum. Potentially CR7. these added to a squad that BEAT Bayern Munich last season and includes Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr, Marquinhos, Keylor Navas, & Marco Verratti, and other key starters like Presnel Kimpenpe, and Idrissa Gana Gueye.
Who can stop this team? Themselves. Although Kylian Mbappe & Neymar have said that they want to play with Ronaldo, this might not be the blessing it will seem to be at first. 3 MASSIVE egos trying to co-exist. Where have we seen this before, BBC Real Madrid? Ok, that team was successful, but with the addition of Sergio Ramos, he, Marquinhos, and Presnel Kimpembe will all want game time, with, unless they play 2 or 3 in midfield, which is laughable, it will knock players like Juan Bernat, Thilo Kehrer, and Mitchel Bakker out of the starting XI, which would be catastrophic. The midfield would include Gana Gueye, Gini Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi, and Marco Verratti at full strength. Again, this would keep out Leandro Paredes, Danilo Pereira, Julian Draxler, Ander Herrera, and Xavi Simons out of the starting XI. Those are players that would start for pretty much any other Ligue 1 team. The Goalkeeping situation reeks of 2019 Real Madrid, as Gianluigi Donnarumma, coming off the player of the tournament in the Euros, will definitely start in goal at the beginning of the season, following in Tibo Courtois’ footsteps at keeping Keylor Navas, still one of the premier GKs in world football, into the #2 spot. Unless they have a mass exodus, trouble’s brewing for the substitutes.
Can they win the Champions League? By all means, as long as the attitude in the locker room stays light. If they can beat Barcelona and Bayern by a combined score of 8-5 without the signings, one can only imagine what they can beat them by with the signings.
