Rebuilding Barca on every FIFA since FIFA 14 Part 4: FIFA 17
By Jim James
I can’t believe we’re here already. FIFA 17, the third FIFA I’ve played today, which is a dream. We’re in the FIFAs that I know well now. Part 4 in a series? I know. 2016-17 was the first season in which I started watching Barcelona. It was the last season of MSN, the last where Iniesta was good, Rakitic was an 87 in this FIFA, Pique was an 87. The defense still needs work, but this is the last FIFA where I’m not making significant attacking changes. You know what I’m about to say, if you haven’t go and read parts 1-3 before reading this one, on to the FIFA 16 accolades.
FIFA 16 Top Scorer
Luis Suarez, 77 goals
FIFA 16 Top 3 Signings
- David De Gea
- Marco Verratti
- David Alaba
Season 1
We’re calling for help only in Right Back and Goalkeeper, so we’re signing Hector Bellerin and Bernd Leno for Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. Other than that we’re bringing in the best youth haul we’ve ever brought in, bringing in Youri Tielemans, Yann Karamoh, Kylian Mbappe, Henry Onyekuru, Grigoris Kastanos (The Cypriot De Bruyne), Nicolo Barella, Issa Diop, Felix Passlack, Cameron Carter-Vickers (The First American we’ve had in the series), and Benjamin Henrichs. Lesser players we sell inclue Aleix Vidal, Rafinha, Borja Lopez, Arda Turan, Sergi Palencia, and Jeremy Mathieu. We put up our youth haul on the 2-year loan list.
By halfway through I’m top of the league and in the Copa, however there is no UCL this year as I FORGOT TO TURN IT ON AGAIN UGH.
In January it is a quiet window, as I only loan out Kaptoum and Tielemans, still very import moves, those. I usually don’t talk about what’s going on in the save outside the club but Real Madrid sold Ronaldo in January… to Juventus. Like real life. They replaced him with Eden Hazard. Not making it up, two huge real life transfers have happened in this window.
End of the season, we win la liga, but that’s it. Good performance from MSN, we get some quality youth players, on to season 2.
Season 2
We start with $117 million, and the young revolution continues with a lot of them going out on loan, but we did sell Bueno, Munir, Carbonell, Cardona, Denis Suarez Sergi Roberto, Christian Tello, Jordi Masip, Paco Alcacer, Sergi Busquets, and Thomas Vermaelen to make way for our two marquee signings, Kevin De Bruyne and Jerome Boateng.
We skip the January transfer window and make our way to the Champions League knockouts.
Man Utd first. A worrying 2-1 win in Barcelona, we just need to not lose. However, in the first minute of the away leg, Bailly scores for them. De Bruyne equalises but Herrera gets a goal before the end of the game. Andre Gomes however scores for us in extra time and we go through.
We have by far the weirdest opponent we have faced in the champions league in the whole series next. SOUTHHAMPTON. Just by Manolo Gabbiadini, 83 rated and an 85 rated Virgil Van Dijk they’re in the Quarterfinals. However, we’re here to squash their fairytale run. We win 2-0 in Barcelona with goals by Messi and Alba, and in England, we win 2-1. To the Semi Finals!
Real Madrid is our semi final opponent, and we win 2-0 in Barcelona, in Madrid in the 27th minute James Rodriguez converts a penalty. He converts another penalty 4 minutes later, 2-2. In the 35th minute, Andres Iniesta scores, 2-3. In the 82nd minute Eden Hazard scores for them, they need one more.
They don’t get one more. It’s another champions league final on season 2. No joke, we got Benfica in the final. WHAAAAAT? I don’t want to sound cocky, but this looks like we’re ending FIFA 17 here. They have 85 Ederson and 84 Semedo as their 2 best players. Messi and Suarez are both inuured, though
Nothing much happens, except when in the 66th minute, substitute Lucas Digne scores for us, and that turns out to be the only goal of the game. WE’VE WON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!!!!!!!!
It’s another short part, but don’t worry, we’ll have longer parts sooner, I guarantee. We might see this one in the +5 year special, too. We still have 5 FIFAs left… Until next time.
