Rebuilding FC Barcelona on every FIFA since FIFA 14 part 5: FIFA 18

Hey guys, I’m back! Part 5 is here, and we’re in what I call “The Modern Career Mode” now with FIFA 18. We’re almost halfway through this series, and I can’t wait to begin! After this post, I might take a break from the series, I’m a little Career Mode-d out at this point. Now for the FIFA 17 Accolades!

Top Scorer:

Neymar (45)

Top 3 signings:
1. Bernd Leno

  1. Jerome Boateng
  2. Hector Bellerin

Season 1

Taking advantage of the new transfer system, we sign our first Real Madrid player, maybe of many this summer, signing Toni Kroos. Marco Verratti from PSG, who you may also remember was one of the Top 3 signings in FIFA 16, signs for us for $90 million. Toni Kroos broke our transfer record in the series, we sign him for $129 million. We also sign a few youngsters. We sign someone who I hope will be a perennial signing from now on, Alphonso Davies, for $15 million, Phil Foden, Marcus Edwards, and Angel Gomes. I pln to sign Jann-Fiete Arp next season. I know there will be a next season, because I forgot to turn on the Champions League for season 1. Lol. We sell Thomas Vermaelen for $12.9 million, Ivan Rakitic for $72.5 million, Sergi Roberto for $32 million, and Andre Gomes for $47 million. Our starting lineup looks like this:

Coutinho                Suarez          Messi

               Verratti                Kroos

                          Busquets

Alba                                             Semedo

             Pique             Umtiti

                    Ter Stegen

It also looks like after having awful form from FIFA 15-17, Leo Messi’s race for the top scorer crown could be back on as he’s in amazing form.

A shock in January, Luis Suarez has scored 0 goals so far, so we’ve sold him to Chelsea for $110 million. We also sell Paco Alcacer via release clause for $43 million. We’re eyeling up Robert Lewandowski.

We end up signing Robert Lewandowski, and we break our series transfer record again, this time it’s $183 million. I hope he works out. On deadline day we sell Ter Stegen for $63 Million and replace him with Tibo Courtois, who we sign for $82 million.

The end of Season 1, and it’s a bad season if I’m honest. 4th in La Liga, and a loss in the Copa Del Rey Semi Finals to Real Madrid.

I think I know why Suarez, and now Lewandowski, weren’t performing. The AI is playing Leo Messi at ST because he’s a CF, so that means a sale of Robet Lewandowski In the summer. To season 2 we go!

Season 2

We have the champions league this season, so we’re making the most dangerous squad we can. What exactly does that mean? It means signing N’Golo Kante for $100 million, Mats Hummels for $98 million, and Kylian Mbappe for $80 million. We also sign Erling Haland for $3 million because why not? However there were some casualties this window, as we had to sell Pique for $52 million, Denis Suarez for $51 million, Sergi Samper for $9 million, GErard Deulofeu for $36 million, Munir for $16 million, and the worst one, Bayern activated Ousmane Dembele’s $101 million release clause and signed him, provoking us buying Mo Salah for $123 million. We also loaned out a few wonderkids and loaned a few in for squad depth.

In January the only business we do is selling Rafinha for $32 million and putting Davies out on loan.

The Champions League RO16 begins. We face Napoli. 3-0 Win in Barcelona, a brace from Leo Messi and a goal from Robert Lewandowski. In Italy to close it out, we win 3-1.

Atlético next, and the home leg sees a 2-1 win, worrying as it is. However, the away leg is a 2-0 win with goals from Lewy and Coutinho.

Arsenal in the semis. We might be making the finals on the first attempt AGAIN. 1-0 win at home, Mo Salah getting the goal, in the second leg, and in the 3rd minutev Phil Coutinho scores, 1-0. Arsenal needed 3 goals, and they got one in the 44th minute through Kolasinac. However, Coutinho scored again in the 79th minute, followed by a goal from Mateo Kovacic & Arsenal in the 83rd, which wasn’t enough. WE’RE THROUGH TO THE FINAL!

After a win in the Copa Del Rey final, Bayern is our opponents. We beat them in the FIFA 15 final and we have some storylines.

Robert Lewandowski vs Bayern

Ousmane Dembele vs Barca

Bayern looking for revenge for the Part 2 final

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen vs Barca.

Mats Hummels vs Bayern

Toni Kroos vs Bayern

Bayern have also signed Javier Aquino, Yacine Brahimi, Junior Firpo, Jeong Woo Yeoung, Juanfran, Milos Pantovic, Alessio Romangnoli, and Inaki Williams to go along with the rest of their team.

We have 8 90+Overalls in the team, and 14 players 85+ rated. Our starting XI looks like this

Coutinho (90)      Lewandowski (90)      Messi (93)

                      Verratti (88)           Kroos (90)

                                       Kante (90)

Alba (87)                                                 Semedo (85)

               Umtiti (88)       Hummels (90)

                            Courtois (90)

Here we go. Final time.

Nothing happens for the whole 90 minutes.

Literally nothing.

Zero.

Ok, A yellow card for David Alaba and a couple of substitutions, but that’s all.

Nothing of substance.

It goes to extra-time.

101st minute Toni Kroos scores.

That’s all.

Wait, that’s all?

Yes.

WE’VE WON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, thank you for getting here, I know the last 3 FIFAs have all been really short and we have 4 FIFAs still to go, so I’m changing the 5-year simulation for the 3 shortest saves to any save that lasted 2 years or less will have a 5-year extra simulation. See you in Part 6. Bye.
