What if the Super League Happened?

What if the Super League Happened?

By Jim James

The Super League, created almost a full year ago now, was a league created by the oober rich European fat cats as a breakaway from the Champions League, but now stands as a monument of what, when united, football fans can achieve, with it being dismantled within days. However, what if it happened? In this post I’ll explain what I believe would have happened. Let’s begin!

#1: League Punishments

The leagues were obviously unhappy about the Super League, but since the big teams were their cash cows, they let them stay, but with punishments.

– 30 point deductions for the Super League teams, 15% profit confiscation from the 20/21 season, 10 point deductions for the 21/22 and 22/23 seasons, and a 5 point deduction for the 23/24 season.

*Super League Club, can’t compete in European Competitions

#2: UEFA Punishments

As angry as the Leagues were, UEFA are even angrier. They strip every Super League team of their Champions League and Europa League titles, and give them to the best performing non-Super League team, which means 41 Champions Leagues are re-awarded. We’ll get to that later. They also prevent players on Super League teams from being in the Euros, we’ll also get to that later, and ban the teams in the Super League from ever appearing in European Competition again, and they were in the 20/21 UCL Semi Finals at that stage, so ¾ were disqualified, and PSG, the one club left, won by default.

#3: Super League teams create new Euros replacement

With the threat of a mass exodus because of no Euros, the Super League leaders scramble to create new international representatives for every country in Europe. The new Euros is called “The European Super International Tournament” or “ESIT” for short. They Have 5 Groups of 11 teams and the top 3 advance automatically to the RO16 and the 4th place teams go to a preliminary tournament where there’s a semi-final and final, the 2 worst 4th placed teams go to a 1st round match to play the best 4th place teams and 2 & 3 play each other. The winner of 1 vs 4/5 play the winner of 2/3 to get the last RO16 spot. There are no qualifiers.

However, that is what I think would happen. It is realstic yet interesting. What do think would have happened if the dreaded Super League happened? I’m Jim James, until next time.
